What is the difference between full-service planning and month-of coordination and do you plan rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, or other wedding weekend events?
Full service includes design, planning, and coordination of your wedding. This means that we will help you with every step of the way. We will support you in the decision making, plan out the logistics of your wedding, and guide you in the overall design, look, and feel.
Month-of coordination is essentially event management, where we will support you beginning six weeks prior to your wedding day and manage everything day-of.
We also have a partial planning package that is for the couple that has their vision already determined but wants assistance with the planning steps as well as coordination day-of.
Through our a la carte options, you can add on planning for rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, bridal showers, etc.

Do you plan weddings of all sizes and styles?

No matter the size of your wedding, we are ecstatic to work with you! We have experience with small and large sized weddings as well as weddings at private residences. If your wedding is fully or partially outdoors, we can handle it! In fact, many of our recent weddings have had one portion of their wedding day be outdoors.
Events by Sydney has experience working with couples who live all across the country and are getting married in Southeast Ohio as their destination wedding. Therefore, we are happy to work with you on your destination wedding!
Regarding travel, if the wedding is outside of Athens county in Ohio, there is a standard mileage charge and if the wedding is over 1 hour away from Athens, Ohio, we will require an additional fee to cover a hotel stay.
How much do your wedding planning services cost?
Our planning packages range from $1,500 to $4,500+. Additionally there are many a la carte options that can make the final price fluctuate based on your needs. We encourage you to look at our Services tab to see more about the pricing.
When should we book a wedding planner?
The answer to this question varies based on what type of assistance you are looking for in a wedding planner. If you wish to have a wedding planner help with the vision and design of your wedding, then it is best to book your planner as your first vendor. If you need assistance with the planning portion, it is recommended to book your wedding planner within the first couple months of being engaged. Last, if you are just looking for a day-of coordinator, make sure you start looking for this person at least four months prior to your wedding day, but sooner is recommended as planners book up quick!
What areas do you serve?
If your event is going to occur in Southeast or Central Ohio, look no further - we are happy to work with you! It does not matter where you are located as we have worked with clients across the country that are hosting their event within our service area.
What does your wedding planning process look like?
Once we begin working together, we will communicate at minimum monthly leading up to your wedding day. Typically within the last two months, we will communicate at least every other week. Additionally, we will provide a shared folder that we can both work on planning items to keep each other up to date on progress being made.
Can we customize a planning package?
Absolutely! We have many a la carte options to add to one of the packages that already exist, allowing you to create a custom planning package.
Can you work with vendors we've already booked?
Definitely! Anytime we are hired for Month-Of Coordination, vendors are booked prior to us beginning our work. Therefore, we have plenty of experience working with vendors that are booked by the clients.
What exactly do you handle on the wedding day? What happens if something goes wrong on our wedding day?
Events by Sydney will have full coordination of the wedding day and cues, including pre-ceremony festivities, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We will complete the setup, décor placement, and breakdown of any rentals and any of your personal items. All communication with vendors will be handled by us so that you, your family, and friends can enjoy the day!
Prior to your wedding day we will discuss things that could go wrong and how you would want that handled as well as who can make final decisions (us or a designated guest). Our goal is that if something does not go as planned, you will never know about it so that you can fully enjoy your day!
How do we officially book your services?
Once we connect, either in-person or virtually, to discuss your wedding vision I will send you a customized proposal. You can take time to review it and if anything isn’t clear, or if you'd like adjustments, just reach out. When you are confident in the proposal, simply sign the contract and pay the deposit to secure your date - then the fun begins! We’ll schedule our first planning meeting, discuss your communication preferences, and dive into bringing your wedding vision to life.
